Biography My
Real Estate background began before I became a lawyer. I obtained my Real Estate Salespersons license in February 1990 (and
which I kept current until January 2004) and worked in real estate property management, sales, and investments. During
Law School, I spent a summer as a Research Assistant for a U.C. Davis law professor where my research focus was Real
Estate Broker Liability. After Law School, I was a legal extern for an U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge where I obtained practical experience
in Federal Civil Procedure and Bench Trials while waiting for my bar exam results . After getting notice that I passed the
California State Bar, I went to work as an Attorney. I spent almost 2 years working for a law firm which focused on representing
Secured Lending Institutions in State & Federal Courts. During that time, I learned a huge amount about the interface
between Real Estate, Mortgage, & Bankruptcy Law, and cut my teeth in California and U.S. Bankruptcy Court Civil Procedure.
Eventually, I left that firm to start my own law practice. As a solo practitioner Attorney, I was responsible for
all aspects of running a small professional services firm, including marketing, administration, bookkeeping, and operations.
I learned several real world lessons in sales & marketing, customer service, cash-flow and vendor relations very quickly.
During that time, I completed several Court/Bench Trials in Federal & Civil Court, in addition to extensive pre-litigation
work. During this time, I had a diverse client base bridging the spectrum of race, culture, education, and economics.
My cases focused primarily on Real Estate & Mortgage Law, including but not limited to Specific Performance, Interpleader,
Wrongful Foreclosure, Partition, Broker Liability, Investment Fraud, Sales Non-Disclosure, and Fraudulent Conveyance. However,
I also handled debtor Bankruptcy, General Civil Litigation, and some Family Law. On a friends suggestion,
I decided to teach some College Courses, and in May of 2005, I became an Adjunct Instructor at a private Inland Empire College. There I carried
a variable load of courses ranging from full time to half-time depending on the Schools needs. I taught courses in Business,
Management, Finance, Criminal Law & Procedure, and Mathematics. I spent a year there before deciding to leave in
May 2006. I’m currently a
Sole Practitioner splitting my time between Riverside & Moreno Valley,
California.
